I honestly wish the author added something like this to Soumas last bit of conversation with the king and queen when he mentioned that the parallel world Souma and Licia are probably still alive and hiding:

--also, I don think your other self was mistaken despite how things ended, father. After all, it was your own decision to appoint my other self as prime-minister which helped the kingdom. And the only reason why you made me step down later on was because of excessive pressure from the corrupt nobility. In other words, your first decision itself was correct. You were just weak against pressure and could not follow that decision through the end.

And besides that...If your old self didn end up in that situation because of his your decisions back then, then you wouldn have made the decision to do things differently this time around and I wouldn have met and established the family we have now. So in the end, you weren a foolish king. You were wise. You just need to have more confidence and strength to believe in yourself and your own decisions.
