Oh, wow this is just a very interesting plot twist. Thats surprising. The 1-horned guys wife (elder sister of the twins) wanted to cure their daughters bone disease. However, the remedy (doesn fully heal it but makes it way better) is an herb that only grows as a parasite that feeds on bones and takes about years to fully bloom. Unfortunately for the couple, it also comes with a big caveat where the herb used for the remedy also needs to be grown from the bones of a blood-related relative of the patient (due to DNA compatibility likely). So the wife who was really smart planned to sacrifice herself. She planned on dying during one of their expeditions by insisting on a badly organized party and rushed route, and have her body host the parasite herb where she dies. But because this herb is precious overall, any adventurer that would find it might steal it and sell it. To prevent this, she decided to die in a spot where many adventurers also die, and the herb grows in the multiples. Hiding a tree in the forest kind of thing. Then, her husband who she told the plan about, will retrieve the herb by identifying her bones using the tag and her special necklace. Part of the wifes plan is to make her twin sister think the husband killed her for inheritance since he needs the money for their sick daughter. This is intentional because the wife wanted the sister to at least attempt to kill the husband after finding her corpse and the herb. Because the wife wants her sister to have a strong drive to take everything (money from both their insurances after they die, and the herb) and save their daughter. The wife doesn believe in just asking her sister to follow through with their plan because even if they e family, a large amount of money can suddenly change a person due to greed, so she intended to give the sister personal drive like anger for a murder that didn really happen, to manipulate her into fulfilling their last wishes for their daughter. If the sister is fooled into thinking her twin was killed unjustly, she will kill the husband (his wish is to die with his wife and have his inheritance help save the kid), take the couples inheritance money, and be driven emotionally to save the only remaining family her twin left her which is the daughter. The part where the wifes plan went awry was when the storm giant spirit moved into the location where her body was. This created a situation where theres a boss monster in the spot where the herb is, and her husband was unable to get to the herb leading to years of delay in their plan. The husband tried to hire several adventurers to get the herb, but the giant was too strong. Unfortunately, by the time they were able to get the herb now, it has been past the years it bloomed and the plant had been ruined by being exposed to the storm for so long. The luckiest part was that MC was able to save the husbands life, and return the herbs condition to a usable state using his unique skill. This comment system sucks with formatting. I can paragraph the text no matter how many times I try.
